Welcome to Wisdom Collective’s Art & Soul
This serves as a new space for my Wisdom Collective and Art & Soul by Karen Newsletter. I am happy to share here my upcoming San Diego Events. If you are in San Diego, I hope you can drop by my studio or one of my Art & Soul Circles where we meditate, reflect, and create art in creative community!!
If you are outside of San Diego, know I will be expanding my offerings virtually in the coming year. The photo above is taken at The Studio Door Gallery, where I am graced with the presence of art created by Angela Gonzalez and sculpture by Moni Blom.
Forging a New Path from East to West Coast
It’s hard to believe that I am approaching my one-year anniversary of relocating back to San Diego. So many of you on this list started with me while I was on the east coast where I was playing my harp and sound bowls at Banyan Tree Yoga, I appreciate the community that welcomed me there, as I began my journey into sound healing and meditation. I also am grateful to Pottery Mill for giving me a place to create and continue my ceramics craft, to The Wellness Seed for providing me a space to teach and share my art and music. I am grateful to all who reached out for private events, Inner Athlete and Love the Scrubs Organics along with many individuals who supported me on that initial journey and to whom I am forever grateful.
I am now back in San Diego and honored to have a studio space at The Studio Door with incredible artists, reconnecting with my inspiring mentors at Sacred Sound of the Soul Temple , and Shelly Reef. Also, returning to practice with Zenjenzyoga, Deeplydimensionalyoga, and all the teachers and musicians at Riffs Yoga Studio where I now play my harp and bowls. These individuals and spaces have provided a base of support and community as I’ve returned west. I also appreciate reconnecting with fellow potters and creatives at Clay Associates and Clay Artists of San Diego, where I am continually inspired by in both their open collaborations and creations.
Gratitude for Virtual Community Spaces & Friendships
I also need to share my gratitude to the virtual communities that provide me the creative inspiration on a regular basis to reflect and show up fully, The Isolation Journals, Tamzin Resurface, Rachel White, Totem Readings and Jennifer Pastiloff, Being Human. Jennifer is so unique and inspiring and is also now on SubStack. If you are wanting to find pathways to process both the grief and joys of life, I encourage you to explore these virtual community spaces that are authentic and open hearted.
Finally, a big shout out to the team that has helped me create my media presence: JSR Strategies, Jessica Rhodes, without her I would not have a website or logo!! Through her I met the inspired artist Irubiel Moreno whose creative contributions added depth to my creations, and to Maestra Gisel Barrett a long time friend and amazing teacher, for stepping in to support this newsletter. To anyone I missed, I'll catch you in the coming months.
Intentions for Wisdom Collective’s Art & Soul on Substack
My intention, going forward, is to expand this newsletter into a blog sharing my creative writing and artwork. To also highlight other teachers, artists, collectives and individuals from who I am inspired and learn from.
I look forward to sharing what I have learned on my spiritual journey these past years; with much personal and community loss alongside great joy and abundance. Over the time since Wisdom Collective was created, I have learned that it is possible to hold both these emotions side by side. Right now, as there is much grief and anger in this world with violence that touches us energetically, if not personally, we must also hold space for the love we share with family, friends and the earth. It’s just as important to celebrate our communities that bring us love, support and joy. For our paths on this planet are short, wide, and varied and we must hold love above all else. So, in this season with so many challenges and grief may you also find some time for creativity and community by sharing your abundance and light in this world.
Thank you!!
I’d love to hear your musings, reflections and any feedback you have to share as I enter into this new space.
Karen, I love your photos and how you are sharing your art and soul with others!
Wooohooo! Looking forward to it all Karen!
